Abstract

Climate change poses significant challenges to agricultural productivity in Central Tanzania, particularly for maize crops which are crucial for food security and economic development. Theoretical model construction based on existing literature and expert consultations to identify key factors influencing crop resilience under changing climatic conditions. The theoretical framework provides a robust methodology for evaluating and optimising climate-resilient maize breeding programmes, enhancing their adaptability and impact on smallholder farmers' livelihoods. Implementing this framework can guide policymakers in designing targeted interventions to support the adoption of resilient maize varieties and management practices.
