Abstract

Abstract Current clinical and biomechanical evidence, though limited, suggests equivalent efficacy of several types of medial patellar soft tissue static restraint reconstruction procedures using tendon grafts. Yet, medial retinacular imbrication remains a viable initial surgical option to treat recurrent patellar lateral instability in the absence of major anatomic abnormalities, with good medium‐term and long‐term results.
