Intellectual Property (IP) law in Ethiopia is a growing area of legal scholarship and enforcement, particularly with regards to universities as centers for research and innovation. This study employs a literature review approach to analyse relevant laws, policies, and case studies from Ethiopia and other African countries with similar contexts. The theoretical framework underscores the importance of harmonizing IP laws with international standards to support technological exchange within Ethiopian universities and beyond. Recommendations include strengthening IP law enforcement, promoting transparency in technology transfer processes, and encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration among stakeholders involved in university-based research and development initiatives.
