Key Points

  • This work aims to analyze the residuals of the radial acceleration relation in SPARC galaxies.
  • Analyzed the radial acceleration relation using the SPARC galaxy sample
  • Removed the leading dependence on halo fraction
  • Investigated the persistence of radial structure in the residuals
  • Found a weak but persistent radial structure remains after adjustments
  • Identified a broad band in the residuals around R/Rd ≈ 2.5–3.5
  • Indicated that the radial acceleration relation contains internal dynamical structure

Abstract

This work analyzes the residual structure of the radialacceleration relation (RAR) in the SPARC galaxy sample. After removing the leading dependence on halo fraction,a weak but persistent radial structure remains in theresiduals. This structure forms a broad band aroundR/Rd ≈ 2.5–3.5. The study does not propose a new gravitational law.Instead, it highlights that the apparent tightnessof the RAR still contains internal dynamical structure.
