Key Points

  • The aim is to explore radiative angular scarring between coherential oscillons in different dimensions.
  • Utilized controlled gates in 2+1 dimensions on a 400×400 Cartesian grid.
  • Analyzed effects on angular quadrupolar deformation (Q₂) without collision or proximity.
  • Conducted high-resolution spectral analysis to identify frequency layers.
  • Observed a persistent angular quadrupolar deformation (Q₂ ≈ 0.014) in static coexistence.
  • Found that effect is independent of distance beyond the overlap regime (d > 30).
  • Achieved a first positive result in 3+1 dimensions (ΔQ₂ = 0.507, 5.9σ above clean baseline).

Abstract

We report the discovery and systematic characterization of radiative angular scarring between coherential oscillons in the φ⁴ model. Through a sequence of controlled gates in 2+1 dimensions (400×400 Cartesian grid), we establish that two oscillons breathing in mutual presence develop a persistent angular quadrupolar deformation (Q₂ ≈ 0. 014, 47× baseline) without requiring collision, relative velocity, or close proximity. The mechanism is purely radiative: static coexistence at zero velocity produces the same Q₂ as head-on collision (Gate 3). The effect is independent of impact parameter and approximately constant with distance beyond the overlap regime (d > 30 ≈ 10. 7 Rₑff). High-resolution spectral analysis reveals Q₂ is a composite observable with three intrinsic frequency layers (f ∼ 1. 99, 0. 14, and 0. 008/Tₒsc), correcting an earlier alias at f = 0. 032/Tₒsc. Extension to 3+1 axisymmetric dimensions yields a first positive result (ΔQ₂ = 0. 507, 5. 9σ above clean baseline). Four convergent negative results in 1+1 dimensions confirm that angular scarring is dimensionally gated. This is v1. 3, incorporating Gate 3 (static coexistence), distance-dependence sweep, spectral correction, and the 3+1 first positive. Supersedes v1. 2 (DOI: 10. 5281/zenodo. 19140568).
