Structured PICO

Does high-intensity interval training improve prognostic CPET parameters and ventricular remodeling in patients with a recent acute myocardial infarction?

P
Population
Patients with a recent acute myocardial infarction (post-AMI)
I
Intervention
High-intensity interval training (HIIT)
C
Comparator
Usual care

Prognostic CPET parameters and ventricular remodeling (echocardiographic parameters of LV function)surrogate

High-intensity interval training improves prognostic exercise parameters and promotes favorable ventricular remodeling in post-AMI patients compared to usual care.

Abstract

In post-AMI patients, HIIT lead to significant improvements in prognostic CPET parameters compared to usual care. HIIT was associated with favorable ventricular remodeling regarding certain echocardiographic parameters of LV function.
