Abstract

To enhance the transmission efficiency and operational smoothness of conventional planetary gears, this paper designs a novel double internal meshing gear (NDIMG) transmission system and conducts a dynamic analysis of its characteristics. The transmission ratio of this structure can be adjusted by coordinating the operation of the clutch and brake, thereby enabling switching between multiple transmission ratios. Compared to traditional structures, the new configuration offers variable transmission ratios and simplified switching mechanisms. Calculations indicate the overall transmission efficiency of this structure reaches 99.31%, representing an improvement of at least 3% over conventional designs. The average amplitude across all degrees of freedom at the first natural frequency is 8.925 μm, indicating relatively smooth operation. This paper employs more precise modeling by considering the coordination conditions for elastic deformation within the gear system. Furthermore, a combined analytical, finite element, and experimental approach is adopted for analysis, yielding more accurate and rigorous conclusions.
