Abstract

This paper presents numerical analysis of interface phenomena of magnetic fluids in real space and time. Direct Boundary Element Method (DBEM) confronting the problems of multiplicity and singularity is employed to obtain the magnetic potential and the normal magnetic induction for static magnetic fields and the fluid velocity potential and the normal fluid velocity for incompressible-irrotational fluids, on arbitrary-shaped interfaces between the fluid and the vacuum. A computational code produced on the basis of the formulated equations was verified to generate magnetic fields on the interface as intended. It is applied for the dynamic phenomena of the interface, and the instability at intense applied magnetic fields is analyzed.
