The convergence of sustainable development imperatives and climate change challenges has positioned the blue economy as a critical frontier for India's economic transformation. This article examines the relationships between sustainability frameworks, developmental aspirations, and climate adaptation strategies within India's maritime domain, drawing upon recent policy developments and empirical evidence from coastal communities. The analysis reveals that while India has made significant strides in fisheries production, port infrastructure, and policy formulation, the vulnerabilities of coastal populations to climate-induced disruptions remain inadequately addressed. Through examination of India's Blue Economy 2.0 initiative, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, and the Sagarmala Programme, this study argues that sustainable blue economy development requires an integrated approach harmonizing technological innovation with traditional knowledge systems. The article concludes with recommendations for policy coherence, enhanced community participation, and innovative financing mechanisms.
