Abstract

The current problems of labor migration in the Russian Federation are considered in the article. The purpose of the work is to identify the main problems of labor migration and consider their solutions. The data on migrant arrivals from various countries for the first half of 2023 are presented. The statistical material was taken from the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the works of the authors listed in the list of references were also analyzed for the preparation of the article. The main reason for labor migration has been identified, it lies in the inequality of income and living standards in different countries. The problems of labor migration are indicated, which can be divided into economic, legal, and social ones. The consequences of labor migration, which can be both positive and negative, are substantiated. Ways of solving problems at the domestic level are considered: for this it is necessary to strengthen control over the stay of foreign citizens inside the state, at points of arrival, including with a more detailed introduction of information systems. As well as at the international level, it is necessary to cooperate between countries to regulate the processes of labor migration. Based on the above, it can be emphasized that if problems are identified at an early stage and directed in the right direction, this can minimize the negative consequences of labor migration.
