Key Points

  • To provide a new perspective on the fundamental nature of spacetime by focusing on energy relations.
  • Review and reinterpret historical notions of spacetime in the context of special relativity.
  • Analyze energy-momentum relations within an abstract mathematical framework.
  • Discuss the implications of Lorentz invariants on understanding spacetime.
  • Presents spacetime as an abstract framework rather than a physical entity.
  • Highlights the importance of energy relationships in understanding spacetime.
  • Suggests that this approach may help resolve longstanding challenges in physics.

Abstract

The nature of spacetime remains a central unresolved issue in physics. Originally separate, space and time were unified by special relativity, reflecting the invariant speed of light across inertial frames. This article presents spacetime much like an abstract mathematical framework encoding frame-independent energy-momentum relations and other Lorentz invariants. By focusing on energy, it offers a novel perspective to address persistent challenges and deepen understanding of fundamental physics.
