The article examines the constitutional and legal foundations of higher legal education in the Russian Federation and substantiates the role of state educational standards as a legal mechanism for ensuring the quality of legal training. The study analyses the normative logic of standardisation, the balance between fundamental training and specialisation, and the significance of legal certainty and uniform law enforcement for shaping graduates’ professional competencies. The article concludes by outlining key priorities for developing higher legal education as a strategic resource for strengthening legality, public order, and the stability of the Russian legal system.
