Abstract

羚牛是我国一级保护动物,与大熊猫、金丝猴并称“高山林区三大珍兽”。由于化石材料极为稀缺,且中、晚更新世的化石记录匮乏或难以准确鉴定,羚牛的演化历史及其不同时期的地理分布格局迄今仍不清晰。本文报道了在贵州双河洞区域一处小型洞穴中原位保存的两具相对完整的羚牛化石材料。经形态测量与系统鉴定,二者分别属于一个成年个体和一个未成年个体,其牙齿及头骨尺寸均明显大于现生羚牛。AMS-14C测年结果显示,这两具个体分别生活于15,785~15,615 cal a BP和11,819~11,403 cal a BP,均属晚更新世晚期,表明羚牛曾是西南山区晚更新世“大熊猫-剑齿象动物群”的重要成员之一。该发现是我国迄今保存最完整的羚牛化石记录,也是晚更新世羚牛的首次可靠记录,对于深化认识羚牛的系统演化、历史分布格局及区域古气候演变具有重要科学意义。
