Abstract

Background: Conventional restorative dentistry is invasive. Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) and SMART (SDF + ART) provide minimally invasive, resource-appropriate alternatives. Content / Methods: Descriptive review of technique, clinical outcomes, acceptability in pediatric and underserved populations, and practical workflow for SMART. Conclusion: SMART increases accessibility and acceptability of caries management where conventional care is limited; beneficial for young/uncooperative patients.
