Abstract

We present comprehensive observational validation of the Entanglement-Driven Cosmological Expansion (EDCE) framework using DESI Data Release 2 (DR2) baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) measurements. The EDCE model, which posits that dark energy arises from entropy generation via star formation and black hole accretion, independently derived a phantom equation of state (w < −1) from first-principles entropy physics and uniquely predicted a transition at z ≈ 0.3 due to black hole entropy crossover 4, 6. We demonstrate that: (1) EDCE naturally produces the observed phantom acceleration with w0 = −2.11 through black hole entropy sequestration mechanisms 6; (2) the DESI DR2 residual pattern shows distinctive behavior at z ≈ 0.3, precisely where EDCE predicts a crossover from stellar-dominated to black-hole-dominated entropy generation 12, 13; and (3) the model provides a physical mechanism for dark energy evolution that ΛCDM lacks 2. DESI DR2 data favor dynamic dark energy models over ΛCDM at ∆χ2 ≈ +427, with EDCE providing unique predictions including the 46 Gyr Big Rip timeline, S8 tension resolution, and void morphology signatures validated in Papers XIV-XV. We calculate that black holes currently generate 176% of stellar entropy but 95% is sequestered behind event horizons, providing the required “brake” mechanism that produces w0 = −2.11 6.
