Preparation and long-term corrosion resistance of epoxy resin coatings modified by Fe-Co-Ni-Cr-Ti high-entropy alloy

XFXinyue FanYLYaqian LiuGJGuojun Ji

Key Points

  • The aim is to evaluate the corrosion resistance of epoxy coatings modified with a high-entropy alloy.
  • Preparation of epoxy coatings modified with Fe-Co-Ni-Cr-Ti high-entropy alloy.
  • Optimization of coating composition at 2 wt% HEA.
  • Evaluation of long-term corrosion resistance in NaCl solution.
  • The optimized 2 wt% HEA coating demonstrated excellent long-term corrosion resistance.
  • Corrosion resistance is attributed to a synergistic barrier-passivation mechanism.

Abstract

Fe-Co-Ni-Cr-Ti high-entropy alloy (HEA) modified epoxy coatings were prepared. The optimized 2 wt% HEA coating showed excellent long-term corrosion resistance in NaCl solution via a synergistic barrier-passivation mechanism.
