Background: This study assessed the attitudes of nursing students regarding women experiencing perinatal substance use disorders after completing a set of online learning modules. Method: A quasiexperimental design was used to assess nursing students' attitudes before and after completing a collection of evidence-based online learning modules covering opioid use disorder. The Modified Drug Use in Pregnancy Scale is a valid and reliable tool and was administered before and after students completed the online learning modules. Results: Statistical analysis revealed a significant improvement from a mean score of 2.71 ± 0.69 in the presurvey to 3.20 ± SD 0.76 in the post-survey ( p < .001). Conclusion: This study demonstrates that evidence-based online education modules are an effective means to educate and improve attitudes of undergraduate nursing students toward women with perinatal substance.
