Abstract Die Rezeptur für das Mundwasser Odol gibt es seit 1892. Entwickelt hat es der Chemiker Richard Seifert, vermarktet hat es sein Freund und Jungunternehmer Karl August Lingner. Damit stieg Lingner schon zu Lebzeiten zum „Odolkönig“ auf. Und Seiferts „Salol‐Prinzip“ wird heute noch im Pharmaziestudium gelehrt und gelernt.
