Summary This study examines how Indonesian migrant care workers in Japan use social media as a vital part of migration infrastructure. Due to the unfamiliarity of care work, workers face emotional and practical challenges adapting abroad. Social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram help them discover job opportunities, reframe care work as noble, share emotional struggles, and exchange practical knowledge. Beyond communication, these digital spaces serve as informal infrastructure, emotional support networks, fostering community and resilience. The research highlights the importance of recognizing social media’s role not just technologically but looking at emotional aspect embedded within it in migration experiences.
