Do ARBs or ACE inhibitors reduce the increased risk of mortality and stenosis progression in patients with aortic stenosis and hypertension?
In patients with aortic stenosis and hypertension, ARBs, but not ACE inhibitors, appear to mitigate the increased mortality risk associated with hypertension.
Hypertension is associated with significantly faster stenosis progression and higher incidence of clinical events in patients with AS. ARBs but not ACEs were found to abolish the increased risk of mortality associated with hypertension.
