Key Points

  • To investigate long-term alterations in large and medium-sized choroidal vessels in eyes affected by age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV).
  • Performed serial imaging using Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICGA) to examine choroidal vessels.
  • Compared changes in vessel structure over time between AMD and PCV cases.
  • Identified significant remodeling of large and medium choroidal vessels in eyes with AMD and PCV.
  • Vascular changes may be associated with the development of choroidal neovascular complexes.

Abstract

We report the long-term changes in large and medium-sized choroidal vessels in eyes with AMD and PCV with serial ICGA images. These vascular alterations suggest the possible role played by these vessels in the pathogenesis of choroidal neovascular complexes.
