Is low femoral subcutaneous fat associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in women?

P
Population
Women
I
Intervention
Low femoral subcutaneous fat amounts
O
Outcome
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)

Accurate measurement of regional body composition, including femoral subcutaneous fat, is important when investigating NAFLD in women.

Abstract

Low femoral subcutaneous fat amounts were shown to be independently associated with fatty liver disease in women. These results show the importance of accurate measurements of other regional body compositions as well as visceral fat amounts when investigating NAFLD.
