Key Points

  • The aim is to develop a silicon-silver bilayer hybrid grating to enhance fluorescence and direct emission from dipoles.
  • Proposed a silicon-silver bilayer hybrid grating with tunable parameters.
  • Evaluated the performance for fluorescence enhancement and directional emission.
  • Analyzed the effects of dipole orientations on emission characteristics.
  • Demonstrated significant fluorescence enhancement across different orientations.
  • Achieved directional emission for arbitrarily oriented dipoles.
  • Validated the tunability of enhancement through parameter adjustments.

Abstract

A silicon–silver bilayer hybrid grating with independently tunable parameters is proposed to achieve robust fluorescence enhancement and directional emission for arbitrarily oriented dipoles.
