Structured PICO

Does the TyG index predict coronary heart disease risk and coronary artery sclerosis severity in patients with obstructive sleep apnea?

P
Population
Patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
I
Intervention
Triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index
O
Outcome
Coronary heart disease (CHD) risk and coronary artery sclerosis severity

The TyG index may serve as a useful surrogate marker to predict coronary heart disease risk and atherosclerosis severity in patients with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea.

Abstract

TyG index is a risk factor for CHD in OSA cases and reflects the severity of coronary atherosclerosis. TyG, a surrogate indicator for IR evaluation, may help predict CHD in OSA cases, especially in moderate to severe OSA.
