Abstract

Business incubators in our current era play an important role in economic and social development, by encouraging entrepreneurship and the trend towards self-employment, and creating new generations of entrepreneurs with creative ideas. it’s also play a major role in providing full support to emerging projects in terms of converting ideas into viable projects. To implement, and follow up until its maturity and exit. This study aims to discover the obstacles that limit or prevent business incubators in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from achieving their goals. It also aimed to propose a vision to overcome these obstacles from Saudi entrepreneurs’ perspective. A questionnaire is used to elicit the participant’s opinions and to achieve the study objectives. An empirical study is conducted on a random sample of (49) entrepreneurs registered in the Centers affiliated with the Chambers of Commerce in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study found that there are internal and external obstacles that limit or prevent business incubators in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from achieving their goals, these internal and external obstacles that limit or prevent business incubators from achieving their goals coms in high degree. Among the most important recommendations that came out of the study is the necessity of working to spread awareness in society about business incubators and the services they provide, and highlighting their contribution to economic and social development, while facilitating the relevant procedures for establishing and activating business incubators in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the need for the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises to adopt programs Training and development workshops targeting workers in business incubators, as well as the need to be open to global experiences in the field of business incubators, and try to benefit from them in developing their reality.
