Key Points

  • To investigate how physiotherapists personalize airway clearance techniques in children with primary ciliary dyskinesia amidst uncertainty.
  • Analysis of current airway clearance techniques used by physiotherapists.
  • Assessment of outcome data related to airway clearance effectiveness.
  • Evaluation of factors influencing personalization of treatment.
  • Uncertainty exists regarding the effectiveness of current airway clearance techniques.
  • Limited tools hinder the assessment of personalized regimens.
  • Better outcome data could enhance treatment personalization and reduce uncertainty.

Abstract

ACT personalization is a complex, iterative process in which uncertainty can arise. With limited tools to assess the effects of ACT regimens, it remains unknown if uncertainty would be reduced, or personalization changed with the provision of more sensitive outcome data.
