Abstract

Physical constants are often treated as isolated fixed values. This paper proposes that many such constants are better understood as compound constants: stabilized relational coefficients connecting already-emerged domains. Unlike root constants, which define the possibility of emergence, and recursive constants, which carry invariance through layered projection, compound constants arise only after distinct physical regimes have achieved sufficient closure. Boltzmann’s constant, Planck’s constant, the gravitational constant, the fine-structure constant, the gas constant, Avogadro’s constant, and the cosmological constant are examined as relational bridges linking energy, entropy, temperature, action, frequency, curvature, charge, discreteness, and measurement. Within the coherence-closure framework, compound constants are not unexplained empirical givens butsignatures of stable communication among projected domains. This paper develops a taxonomy ofcompound constants and prepares the ground for understanding physical law as an architecture ofrelations rather than a flat collection of numerical parameters.
