Abstract

This paper assesses the impact of digital technology on the economy of modern Russia. Correlations were determined between the growth of real incomes of the population in the regions and the share of enterprises and organizations using digital technologies in these regions. In the presence of significant correlations, models were construct-ed to assess the potential impact of digital technologies on real incomes of the population. The study showed that in 2020–2022, the use of modern digital technologies had a negative impact on the Russian economy. In 2023–2024, a trend towards a positive impact of digital technologies on the country's economy began to emerge. The ineffective use of digital technologies is associated with a high level of bureaucracy, ineffective command-and-control management methods, insufficient quality of higher education, low wages, limited technical resources and systems implementing digital technologies, and low quality of software products. The emergence of signs of a trend towards a positive impact of digital technology on the economy in 2023–2024 may be associated with an increase in wages.
