Abstract Der Artikel rekonstruiert die Emergenz einer volkssprachlichen Fallprosa anhand der Fallsammlungen Matthias Abeles. Er situiert Abeles Schreibweise im Umfeld der Projekte der Fruchtbringenden Gesellschaft sowie des Verwaltungshandelns im Heiligen Römischen Reich. Im Schnittfeld von Recht und Literatur gewinnt dabei ein poetologischer Verfahrensbegriff an Kontur, dessen Genealogie der Aufsatz erschließt.Drawing on Matthias Abele’s collections of cases, the article reconstructs the emergence of vernacular prose and situates Abele’s mode of writing within the projects of the Fruchtbringende Gesellschaft and the practices of administration in the Holy Roman Empire. At the intersection of law and literature, a poetological concept of art as procedure ( Verfahren ) emerges, whose genealogy the article outlines.
