KOKyohei OtaniTITakahiro IgarashiYKYoshiyuki Kawakami

Key Points

  • The aim is to establish a real-time method for monitoring sea salt particles using a pollen sensor.
  • Laboratory evaluation of optical response characteristics of artificial sea salt particles.
  • Field measurements conducted over one year in real environments.
  • Correlation analysis between sensor counts of spherical particles and sea salt amounts measured by a dry gauge method.
  • Confirmation of distinct optical response characteristics of artificial sea salt particles.
  • Strong correlation identified between sensor counts and sea salt quantity in field measurements.
  • Demonstration that pollen sensors can automatically measure sea salt particles with high temporal resolution.
