Key Points

  • To evaluate the effects of luteal estradiol priming with or without GnRH antagonist on oocyte yield in patients with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR).
  • Compared oocyte yield in patients treated with luteal E2 priming with and without GnRH antagonist.
  • Monitored IVF outcomes associated with both treatment approaches.
  • Conducted as a prospective analysis.
  • No improvement in oocyte yield with the addition of GnRH antagonist.
  • IVF outcomes remained similar between the two treatment groups.
  • Luteal E2 priming alone may be a cost-effective approach.

Abstract

The addition of a GnRH antagonist to luteal E2 priming did not improve oocyte yield or IVF outcomes in patients with DOR. Given similar efficacy and potential cost savings, luteal E2 priming alone may be a sufficient approach. Prospective trials are needed to validate these findings.
