Abstract

This interview is part of the “Caste in Canada” oral history project. “Caste in Canada” comprises interviews with nineteen Canadians of Dalit background, documenting their histories, experiences, and understanding of the implications of caste in Canada. The subject of this interview, Vipasna Nangal, is a Political Science student at the University of Calgary with a keen interest in public policy and law. This interview is divided into two segments and includes one promotional video. In the interview, Vipasna Nangal discusses the new generation’s identity in relation to caste, the importance of learning about one’s past, and elaborates on what youth can do to speak out against these issues.
