Abstract

This thesis presents an open-source platform designed to support the rapid development of application-specific environmental monitoring systems in marine contexts, particularly for non-expert users. Its modular hardware and software architecture enables flexible and robust prototyping. The platform’s effectiveness is demonstrated and evaluated through prototypes developed for aquaculture, environmental monitoring, trawl fisheries, and deep-sea mining applications.
