Abstract

This study deals with the paradox of the image in Ibn al-Mu'tazz's poetry, trying to stand on the paradox of the simile image, the paradox of the metaphorical image, and the paradox of the color image, which aims to highlight the expressive effectiveness of the poet's self and the psychological disturbances and contradictions that circulate within him, relying on the principle of contrast between the superficial meaning and the deep meaning of the text, and contradicting the familiar and breaking the horizon of the reader's expectations.
