The restriction by the adverbial sentence and its effect on determining the meaning of prohibition in the Holy Quran

This research focuses on investigating the effect of the adverbial sentence, as a restriction, on the prohibition sentence in terms of its denotation and intended meaning, as mentioned in several passages of the Holy Quran. There are questions posed in this regard that the current research will answer, including: Will the current sentence restrict the prohibition denotation, or will it remain absolute? What is its impact on its meaning? Will the prohibition be confined to a specific domain or will it cover several domains? What is the relationship between that and the restriction? Will the current sentence be in the nominal or verbal form, or will it involve both of them, in addition to other questions? It is not surprising that the Holy Quran is a subject of extensive research. After all, it is the Book of Allah, exalted and unmatched, in which the characteristics of nobility, clarity, precision of structure, and richness of denotations and meanings are evident, and this has attracted scholars and researchers to delve into its depths to reveal its linguistic treasures. This study combined both inductive and analytical methods of research, tracing and examining instances in which the prohibition is confined and restricted by the adverbial sentence, and considered without the singular adverb, and then followed by analysis, which led to the desired results of the research. The research begins with an introduction that defines the terms in the research title. The study was divided into three sections: the first was dedicated to the restriction by the adverbial sentence in the field of legislation, the second to the restriction in the field of Quranic stories, and the third to the restriction in the field of transaction etiquette. These sections were followed by a table of Quranic verses related to the research, and the study concluded with the most prominent findings. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.
