Key Points

  • This study aims to explore the role of the ADAM17 protease in acute lung inflammatory responses during pancreatitis.
  • Investigated the impact of ADAM17 on lung inflammation during acute pancreatitis progression.
  • Analyzed inflammatory markers in the lung associated with ADAM17 activity.
  • ADAM17 significantly promotes lung inflammatory responses during acute pancreatitis.
  • Inhibition of ADAM17 leads to a decrease in inflammation, indicating its potential as a therapeutic target.

Abstract

Our findings indicate that the ADAM17 protease plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of acute lung inflammatory responses during AP progression, which could pave the way for devising novel therapeutic options to treat AP-induced ALI.
