Abstract

The investigation on utilization of bubble deck technology presents a significant breakthrough in the construction industry, particularly in addressing the challenges associated with conventional concrete slabs. The study on experimental investigation and comparative study between bubble deck slabs of M30 & M40 grades and conventional reinforced concrete slabs are planned. The bubble deck technology offers a solution to the challenge by providing thicker and stronger concrete slabs, allowing for greater spans and architectural design possibilities, including cantilevers. The tests aim to assess flexural strength, cracking behavior, and overall structural performance, following the guidelines set forth by IS10262-2019. The findings of this research work contribute to a better understanding of bubble deck slabs structural behavior which exhibited lesser deflections of 12-20% for fully bubble deck slab compared to conventional slab and 5-13% for alternate bubble arrangement slabs. When compared to conventional slabs for load carrying capacity results, it was 8-13% for fully bubble deck slab and 2-8% for alternate bubble arrangement slabs. This investigation has quite interesting results and economical construction.
