Abstract

This working paper proposes the 8-Layer Model of Generative AI, a conceptual framework for understanding AI as a layered stack of interdependent components spanning infrastructure, data, model intelligence, knowledge enrichment, reasoning, creativity, interaction and governance. The framework is intended as an orientation model for AI literacy, systems thinking, skill mapping and architectural discussion. A central assumption of the model is that capabilities and disruptions observed at higher layers may depend on conditions established in lower layers. This work is presented as a conceptual framework contribution under active development.
