Abstract

This article presents a critical–propositional analysis of Hugang Cui’s Spacetime Substantivalism XIX: The Three Major Misunderstandings in the History of Science and the Ultimate Restoration of Substantial Spacetime Ether, published on Zenodo in 2026, in confrontation with the Theory of Objectivity (TO) developed by Vidamor Cabannas and Denivaldo Silva. The study examines the extent to which Cui’s CSSD framework (Substantial Spacetime Dynamics) can dialogue with the modal, ontological, phenomenic, and informational foundations of the Theory of Objectivity. Special attention is given to the article’s defense of substantial spacetime, the distinction between and , the interpretation of gravitational waves, the GW170817 signal delay, the reinterpretation of black holes, the idea of human dual tracks, and the logical value attributed to species and biodiversity. The analysis identifies important convergences between Cui’s proposal and TO, particularly in the critique of purely geometric formalism, the search for an ontological foundation of physics, the centrality of information, the importance of boundaries, and the understanding of living beings as singular phenomenic structures. At the same time, the article points out relevant tensions, especially the absence of an explicit modal origin for substantial spacetime, the controversial interpretation of the 1.7-second delay in GW170817, and the need for clearer operational and empirical criteria.
