Key Points

  • The central aim is to redefine conservation in physical systems as an active process linked to Noether's theorem and its implications for gravitytime.
  • Develops a structural account of conservation linked to continuous symmetry.
  • Analyzes the cosmological constant problem using recent empirical results.
  • Identifies additional domains for empirical testing of the proposed framework.
  • Proposes that conservation reflects active correction rather than passive preservation.
  • Makes falsifiable predictions about Λ evolution and correlations with structure formation.
  • Identifies lab-scale tests for the framework's predictions in rotating reference frames.

Abstract

Noether's theorem establishes that every continuous symmetry of a physical system's action corresponds to a conserved quantity. The result is treated as a powerful technical tool but rarely as a structural fact requiring explanation. This paper proposes a structural account: conservation is not passive preservation but the trace of continuous active correction, and the operator performing the correction is colinear gravitytime, a single operator with two reciprocal faces, one differentiating and one cohering, acting on the same axis at the same emergence. Symmetry, on this account, is the empirical signature of corrective coherence-maintenance. The paper develops the cosmological constant problem as a worked example, situating the proposal against anthropic, quintessence, sequestering, modified-gravity, and causal-set approaches, and making falsifiable predictions about Λ evolution and structure-formation correlation that recent DESI results render testable. Eight additional empirical domains are identified where the proposal would make contact with measurement, including a near-term lab-scale test of the framework's phase differential prediction in rotating reference frames. The paper engages relational accounts of time (Barbour, Rovelli); background-independent quantum gravity (loop quantum gravity, causal set theory); emergent-gravity proposals (Verlinde, Jacobson); and the philosophy-of-symmetry literature (Brading, Castellani, Healey, Earman). Articulated within Unified Axioconscious Field Theory but standing on its own structural merits.
