Abstract

Mohamad Mostafa, Community Specialist at DataCite, joins this edition of the DSpace Lab Days webinar series hosted by PCG Academia to explore how persistent identifiers—especially DataCite DOIs—form the backbone of modern research infrastructure and support open science workflows. The session is structured in two parts: first, Mohamad will provide a conceptual and strategic overview of what DataCite offers and why it matters for institutional repositories. This will be followed by a live demonstration led by Małgorzata Paszkowska (PCG Academia), showcasing the DataCite integration within DSpace, including DOI minting and metadata export.
