Abstract

The rapid expansion of oil palm cultivation in the Brazilian Amazon offers resources that can be integrated into circular economy strategies to enhance bioenergy production and sustainable agro-industrial growth. This study uses a combined SWOT and AHP framework to guide strategic decisions in Amazonian palm oil supply chains, with GenAI-assisted tools providing additional support for evidence synthesis and analysis structure. The global SWOT-AHP analysis revealed that Strengths accounted for 40−55%, Weaknesses for 18−30%, Opportunities for 14−16%, and Threats for 9−14%. Locally, the most critical strengths were the bioenergy potential of palm oil residues (S1: 57−67%) and the relevance of circular economy models (S2: 21−26%). Conversely, the primary weaknesses were infrastructure gaps (W1: 63−70%) and limited technical expertise (W2: 19−25%). Opportunities in emerging green energy markets (O1: 60−69%) and technological partnerships (O2: 20−24%) were moderated by threats related to regulatory uncertainty and climate variability. The findings underscore the importance of targeted investments in infrastructure, workforce training, and waste valorization systems to strengthen circular resource management and integrate carbon credit mechanisms. Overall, the integrated SWOT−AHP−GenAI approach provides a replicable decision-support framework that guides policy, investment, and sustainable resource governance strategies, positioning the Amazonian palm oil sector as a potential reference model for sustainable, bioenergy-driven circular bioeconomy development.
