Key Points

  • The aim is to develop cost-effective and efficient designs for dipole magnets used in the CEPC Booster and Collider.
  • Developed prototype magnets during TDR and EDR stages.
  • Designed an automatic magnet production line for efficient manufacturing.
  • Conducted studies on magnet designs to evaluate cost and performance.
  • A total of 46210 magnets are included in the CEPC project, spanning approximately 160 km.
  • Prototype magnet designs indicate optimal configurations for economic feasibility.
  • The automatic production line is anticipated to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

Abstract

There are 46210 magnets in the CEPC Booster and Collider, of which the total length is about 160 km. So the magnets cost is a significant concern in the design of the magnets, particularly of the dipole magnets. In order to get the reasonable as well as economic schemes of the magnets for the Booster and Collider, some prototype magnets were developed and studied in TDR stage, some are designed and developed in EDR stage. In this paper, the design of the prototype magnets as well as an automatic magnet production line for the CEPC EDR are presented.
