Abstract

This study presents the quantification of PM2.5 aerosol concentrations in four secondary schools in Ogbomosho, Nigeria. Air samples were collected during indoor and outdoor activities to evaluate exposure levels for students. The results were benchmarked against the World Health Organization’s 24-hour PM2.5 guideline of 25 µg/m³. Findings reveal that two of the schools recorded significantly high PM2.5 concentrations, particularly during morning sessions, posing long-term health risks to students. Recommendations include better ventilation, green infrastructure, and localized air quality monitoring systems
