As we step into the promising year of 2026, it gives me immense pleasure on behalf of the Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP) and the entire editorial board of the Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology (JISP) to extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to all the members of ISP and the wider dental fraternity. A new year symbolizes renewal, progress, and the pursuit of excellence–values that remain at the core of our journal’s mission. The past year has been one of significant academic engagements and scholarly contributions. We have witnessed a steady rise in the quality and diversity of submissions, reflecting the growing research enthusiasm within our community. I sincerely thank and acknowledge the dedication of all the authors, reviewers and readers that has strengthened the scientific rigor and reputation of JISP. As conveyed in my concluding editorial for the year 2025, from the year 2026 onwards, there shall be only four issues of JISP, annually. Off course there will be additional manuscripts, per issue. From this year onwards the print issues of JISP shall be available only on paid subscription. As we move forward, the journal aims to further elevate its academic standing and global visibility. The key focus areas this year shall include: Encouraging high-quality, evidence-based research that contributes meaningfully to clinical practice and scientific understanding Expediting the peer-review and publication process, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency. The field of periodontology and implantology is evolving rapidly, particularly with advancements in implant dentistry and the increasing recognition of peri-implant diseases. These areas are not only clinically relevant but also demand robust research to guide evidence-based practice. We strongly encourage researchers and clinicians to contribute quality original studies, systematic reviews, and clinical reports focusing on: innovations in implant design, biomaterials and surgical procedures; long-term outcomes of implant therapy; prevention, diagnosis and management of peri-implant diseases; regenerative techniques and host modulation therapies; the interface between systemic health and peri-implant conditions. I urge all researchers, academicians and postgraduate students to submit well-designed, ethically sound and clinically relevant manuscripts. Let us collectively strive to uphold the spirit of scientific inquiry and contribute to the advancement of our speciality. Quality remains our foremost priority. Thoughtful research, meticulous methodology and clear reporting will ensure that JISP continues to serve as a trusted platform for the dissemination of knowledge. As we embrace 2026, let us reaffirm our commitment to academic excellence, innovation and collaborative growth I firmly believe that together we can strengthen the foundation of periodontology and implantology, thereby improving patient care outcomes.
