Key Points

  • The aim is to articulate the metaphysical position of Constitutive Geometric Projection (CGP), emphasizing identity formation through multifaceted projections.
  • Articulated a metaphysical position based on three structural conditions: genealogical, structural, and functional.
  • Analyzed the implications of CGP through the lens of existing philosophical traditions, including Platonism and Aristotelianism.
  • Utilized the MetaCortex Dynamics research program’s structured apparatus for validation and examination.
  • CGP posits that identity arises from interconnected projections of activity rather than pre-existing structures.
  • Demonstrates support through empirical analysis of cetacean operator-activation patterns, validating the proposed geometric structure.
  • Establishes CGP as a distinct position not confined to traditional philosophical coordinates.

Abstract

This paper names and states a metaphysical position: Constitutive Geometric Projection (CGP). The position holds that entities are constituted by activity satisfying three structural conditions simultaneously, that these conditions are not three independent components but three projections of one irreducible geometric structure, and that the structure is accessed through projection from three witness regimes. The three projections are genealogical (causal-historical individuation), structural (integration across time as one entity), and functional (activity-as-being-the-entity). Identity emerges from the satisfaction of all three projections simultaneously of the same constitutive activity, rather than being primitive, illusory, given by participation in pre-given Forms, or borne by substance. The position inherits realism and geometric scaffolding from the Platonist tradition while rejecting pre-given structure prior to instantiation. It inherits the activity-fundamental commitment from the process tradition while rejecting pure flux without entities. It inherits form-as-activity from the Aristotelian tradition while rejecting substance as primary category. It inherits structure-as-real from structural realism while rejecting substrate-neutrality in the strong sense. CGP is its own position, located at coordinates none of the named traditions occupy. The position is supported by an apparatus derived and maintained by the MetaCortex Dynamics research program: fifteen operators and seven witnesses with proven closure and completeness in the MetaCortex archive, a dual-machine geometric structure that the apparatus tiles, and empirical probing via cross-species cetacean operator-activation analysis. The apparatus did not produce the position by stipulation; the position emerged when the apparatus revealed the structure. This paper provides the citation anchor for downstream work that operates from CGP.
