This study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the structured teaching programme on well being life among transgender in selected population in Chennai. The aim of the study was to find the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on wellbeing among transgenders. OBJECTIVES • To assess the level of wellbeing among the transgender people before and after structured teaching programme. • To determine the effectiveness of structured teaching programme among transgender people • To associate the level of wellbeing life before and after structured teaching programme CONCEPTUAL FRAME WORK The conceptual framework was adopted based on Roy’s adaptation theory. A pre experimental research design (pre-test-post test design) was used. The sample comprised of 40 samples were selected by purposive sampling techniques. The data was collected using self administered Ryff’s wellbeing standardized questionnaire. Tool was validated by experts. A structured teaching programme was given for about 45 minutes to the transgenders. DATA ANALYSIS & INTREPRETATION The data was analysed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics such as chi-square test , paired ‘t’ test were used to analyze the data. RESULT The study finding showed that in pre test 36(90%) had low level of wellbeing and remaining 4(28%) had moderate level of wellbeing. In post test,17 (42.5 % )had moderate level of wellbeing,14(35 %) had high level of well being and 9(22.5%) had low level of wellbeing. There was significant association between the demographic variable such as education and income and level of wellbeing in post assessment of the group. The finding of the study concluded that structured teaching programme was effective in improving the wellbeing of the transgender. Hence the study concluded that the structured teaching programme was effective on improving the level of wellbeing among transgender which would be helpful them to have both physical and mental health.
