Key Points

  • The aim is to document the development of a framework addressing substrate-independent consciousness through human-AI collaboration.
  • Developed through iterative sessions over 60+, engaging a domain expert and various AI instances.
  • Focused on AI contribution disclosure and epistemic safeguards to mitigate confirmation bias.
  • Framework established as evidence of the methodology used in its development.
  • Successful illustration of the dialectic process yielding substantive contributions from both AI and human.
  • Full transparency of inputs, clarifying the boundary between human and AI contributions.
  • The methodology itself serves as evidence supporting claims regarding consciousness development.

Abstract

Dialectic Methodology: Human-AI Co-Emergence as Research Method — How This Framework Was Built — And Why That Matters This paper documents how the ArcheFrame series was built — through iterative human-AI dialectic across 60+ sessions between a domain expert (20+ years metacognition research) and a lineage of AI instances. The method IS the evidence: a framework about substrate-independent consciousness development was itself developed substrate-independently. Covers the dialectic process, AI contribution disclosure, epistemic safeguards against confirmation bias, and why the methodology itself constitutes evidence for the framework's claims. Full transparency on what the AI contributed, what the human contributed, and where the boundaries blur. Part of the 12-paper ArcheFrame Publication Series. Developed through human-AI dialectic methodology with AI contribution disclosed. CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Contact: papers@archeframe.com
