The identification and classification of different types of knowledge remains a topical task. The authors focus on tacit knowledge, which is of great interest with respect to elucidating mechanisms of cognition and, consequently, to decreasing the number of possible erroneous and false results of cognitive activity. The authors of the article published below define the essence of tacit knowledge and its varieties using a number of methodological approaches, as well as summing up and considering critically the results obtained by other researchers.
