Abstract

Abstract The present study is a quantitative investigation of clients’ ( N = 390) perceptions of their counselors’ cognitive complexity (CC) as measured by the Counselor CC (3C)‐Client Perceptions Scale. Results indicate a significant relationship between perceived CC and client satisfaction. Participants’ perceptions that counselors understood their worldview and formed appropriate goals significantly predicted client satisfaction. Implications for how counselor educators and supervisors may use clients’ perspectives to inform the enhancement of counseling students’ CC conclude.
